Case No. RE-44 AMENDMENT TO DIRECTION OF ELECTION ,S'eptembcr 18, 19493 On September 3, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision, and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding. The Board, having been advised that District 50, United Mine Work- ers of Au]er]ca, does not, desire to appear upon the ballot, hereby amends the Direction of Election by striking therefrom the words "to deter- mine whether they desire to be represented by District 50, United Mine Workers of America, or Gas, Coke & Chemical Workers, Local No. 12119, affiliated with the National-Council of Gas, Coke and Chemical Workers, for the purposes of collective bargaining, or by neither" and substituting therefor the words "to determine whether or not they desire to be represented by Gas, Coke & Chemical Workers; Local No. 12119, affiliated with the National Council of Gas. Case No. RE-44 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES October 9, 194 On September 3, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Direction of Election' and on September 18, 1942, an Amendment, to Direction of Election in the above-entitled pro- ceedings.2 Pursuant to the Direction of Election and Amendment to Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on September 25, 1942, 'under the direction and supervision of, the Regional Director for the Thirteenth Region (Chicago, Illinois). On September 26, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. B, No 29a. 160 1 I AMERICAN CYANAMID AND CHEMICAL CORPORATION 161 tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Gas, Coke & Chemical Workers, Local No. 12119, affiliated with the National Council of Gas, Coke and Chemical Workers, has, been designated and selected by a majority of all hourly paid production and maintenance employees at the Com- pany's plant in Joliet, Illinois, including guards, but excluding fore- men, supervisors, office workers, chemists, and laboratory assistants, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to 'Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Gas, Coke & Chemical Workers, Local No. 12119, affiliated with the National Council of Gas, Coke and Chemical Workers, is the ex- clusive representative of all such employees for, the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay; wages, hours of em - ployment, and other conditions of employment.
