Alaska Juneau Gold Mining CompanyDownload PDFNational Labor Relations Board - Board DecisionsJan 30, 193910 N.L.R.B. 1489 (N.L.R.B. 1939) Copy Citation In the Matter of ALASKA JUNEAU GOLD MINING COMPANY and JUNEAU MINE & MILL WORKERS UNION, LOCAL No. 203, OF INTERNATIONAL UNION OF MINE, MILL AND SMELTER WORKERS Case No. R-10919 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES January 30, 1939 - On November 8, 1938, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled case 1 which provided that an election by secret ballot be conducted -within thirty (30) days among the production and maintenance employees of Alaska Juneau Gold Mining Company, Juneau, Alaska, on the pay roll of the company immediately pre- ceding the date of the election, excluding supervisory personnel, office employees, and technical engineers, and any employees who had since quit or been discharged for cause, but including watchmen, to de- termine whether they desired to be represented by Juneau Mine & Mill Workers Union, Local No. 203, of International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, affiliated with the Committee for Indus- trial Organization, or by Joint Committee of Federal Labor Union #21001, International Association of Machinists, Local #514, Inter- national Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #B-462, all affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, for the purposes of collective bargaining, or by neither. Pursuant to the Direction, an election by secret ballot was con- ducted under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Nineteenth Region. Full opportunity was afforded all parties to this investigation to participate in the conduct of the secret ballot and to make challenges. On December 20, 1938, the Regional Di- rector, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 1, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Intermediate Report upon the secret ballot.
