AMENDMENT TO DECISION AND DIRECTION OF
ELECTION

On June 25, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board issued its
Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings 1
The Board has since been advised that it was the intention of all
parties at the hearing that employees in the plating department
should be excluded from the appropriate unit.
After due consideration, the Board hereby orders that the Decision
and Dnection of Election be amended, as follows :
(1) By striking the words "polishing department" in Section IV,
The appropriate unit, and substituting therefor the words "polishing
and plating departments"; and
(2) By striking footnote 2 and substituting the following as foot-
note 2.
"The Metal Polishers has a contract with the Company expiring
November 7, 1942, for the polishers, buffers, strappers, wire and_com-
bination brushers, excluding executives, salaried, supervisory and
office employees. We assume that this contract covers both the polish-
ing and plating departments."
MR. GERARD D. REILLY took no part in the consideration of the above
Amendment to Decision and Direction of Election.

IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that International Union United Automo-
bile, Aircraft, & Agricultural Implement Workers of Amei ica, Local
12, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, has been
designated and selected by a majority of the production and main-
tenance employees of Air-Way Electric' Appliance Corporation,
Toledo, Ohio, excluding employees in the polishing and plating
'departments, supervisory, executive, salaried, and office employees, as
their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that,
pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, International Union United
Automobile, Aircraft, & Agricultural Implement Workers of America,
Local 12, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is
the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of
collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of
employment, and other conditions of employment
