Section 26B-4-513 - [Effective Until 10/1/2024] Coprescription guidelines(1) As used in this section: (a) "Controlled substance prescriber" means the same as that term is defined in Section 58-37-6.5.(b) "Coprescribe" means to issue a prescription for an opiate antagonist with a prescription for an opiate.(2) The department shall, in consultation with the Physicians Licensing Board created in Section 58-67-201, the Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon's Licensing Board created in Section 58-68-201, and the Division of Professional Licensing created in Section 58-1-103, establish by rule, made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, scientifically based guidelines for controlled substance prescribers to coprescribe an opiate antagonist to a patient.Renumbered from § 26-55-108 and amended by Chapter 307, 2023 General Session ,§ 148, eff. 5/3/2023.Amended by Chapter 415, 2022 General Session ,§ 19, eff. 5/4/2022.Amended by Chapter 38, 2018 General Session ,§ 1, eff. 5/8/2018.Added by Chapter 228, 2017 General Session ,§ 1, eff. 5/9/2017.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
