Through June 30, 2022 or upon federal approval by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of the long-term care provider assessment described in subsection (a-1) of Section 5B-2 of this Code, whichever is later, every nursing home provider shall pay to the Illinois Department, on or before September 10, December 10, March 10, and June 10, a fee in the amount of $1.50 for each licensed nursing bed day for the calendar quarter in which the payment is due. This fee shall not be billed or passed on to any resident of a nursing home operated by the nursing home provider. All fees received by the Illinois Department under this Section shall be deposited into the Long-Term Care Provider Fund.
