    Under Florida law, the right of contribution applies only “when two or more persons become jointly or severally liable in tort for the same injury.” § 768.31, Fla. Stat. In 2006, however, the Florida Legislature amended Chapter 768, Florida Statutes, to eliminate joint and several liability for most torts, including negligence actions. See § 768.
