Section 51240 - Health instruction(a) If any part of a school's instruction in health conflicts with the religious training and beliefs of a parent or guardian of a pupil, the pupil, upon written request of the parent or guardian, shall be excused from the part of the instruction that conflicts with the religious training and beliefs.(b) For purposes of this section, "religious training and beliefs" includes personal moral convictions.Added by Stats 2004 ch 896 (AB 2525),s 49, eff. 9/29/2004.Repealed by Stats 2003 ch 650 (SB 71), s 9, eff. 1/1/2004.Note: Similar provisions were in the previous Section 51240, which was enacted by Stats. 1976, Ch. 1010, and repealed by Stats. 2003, Ch. 650.
