Section 35 - [Effective until 1/1/2027] Precedence given proceedings regarding elections(a) Proceedings in cases involving the registration or denial of registration of voters, the certification or denial of certification of candidates, the certification or denial of certification of ballot measures, election contests, actions under Section 20010 of the Elections Code, and actions under Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 21100) of Division 21 of the Elections Code shall be placed on the calendar in the order of their date of filing and shall be given precedence.(b) This section shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2027, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, that is enacted before January 1, 2027, deletes or extends that date.Amended by Stats 2023 ch 343 (AB 764),s 1, eff. 1/1/2024.Amended by Stats 2022 ch 745 (AB 972),s 1, eff. 1/1/2023.Amended by Stats 2019 ch 493 (AB 730),s 1, eff. 1/1/2020.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
