Section 64-7-4 - Other Reportable Events: Birth Defects

The Commissioner shall arrange for the reporting of birth defects as soon as detected by pediatric health care providers or human genetic services providers. Birth defects are also identified from birth certificates and health care facility medical records. After case review, evaluation and referrals, reports are consolidated in the Maternal and Childand Family Health database. The Bureau shall provide appropriate report forms for this reporting.
