Section 58-56-1 - General1.1. Scope. -- This rule establishes regulations when hunting migratory game birds in West Virginia. 1.2. Authority. -- W. Va. Code § 20-1-7(31). 1.3. Filing Date. -- April 15, 2021. 1.4. Effective Date. -- July 1, 2021. 1.5. Sunset Provision. -- This rule shall terminate and have no further force or effect on August 1, 2026. 1.6. Seasons in General. -- All hunting seasons are subject to change under the provisions of W. Va. Code § 20-1-7(7). Opening and closing dates are inclusive and time periods are prevailing time unless otherwise noted in this rule. Sunday hunting is legal in accordance with the provisions of W. Va. Code § 20-2-5.
