Section 8:61-4.1 - Purpose; scope
(a) The purpose of this subchapter is to implement the requirements of P.L. 1995, c. 174 (26:5C-15 et seq.) and set standards in accordance with the revised recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on routine screening and testing of pregnant women and newborns for Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
(b) This subchapter applies to clinical practitioners, hospitals and ambulatory care facility birth centers that provide prenatal care, newborn care, screening and order diagnostic tests for HIV or AIDS, diagnose individuals with HIV or AIDS or provide treatment for individuals diagnosed with HIV or AIDS.
