Section Saf-C 1803.06 - Age Requirements for Commercial Driver
(a) Pursuant to RSA 263:27, a commercial driver license shall not be issued to any person less than 18 years of age.
(b) Pursuant to the requirements of 49 CFR 391.11, any commercial driver who intends to drive interstate shall be at least 21 years of age.
(c) Pursuant to the requirements of 49 CFR 391.11, any commercial driver who intends to transport hazardous materials shall be at least 21 years of age.
(d) Notwithstanding (a) above, pursuant to RSA 263:22, a commercial driver license shall be issued to a person between the ages of 16 and 18, in order to drive a motor vehicle with a manufacturer's rating of 18,000 pounds or less, in the event of the following:
(1) A war emergency exists; and
(2) The person meets all other statutory and administrative requirements for a commercial driver license.
(e) Notwithstanding any other rule to the contrary, pursuant to RSA 21-P:18, a commercial driver license shall be issued to a person between the ages of 18 and 21 who intends to drive intrastate any vehicle carrying home heating oil for the purpose of making retail deliveries of such home heating oil.
