Section Saf-C 1626.02 - Blasting Caps and Safety Fuses
(a) No blasting cap shall be inserted in the explosive materials without first making a hole in the cartridge for the cap with a wooden punch of proper size or standard cap crimper.
(b) Only electric detonators, delay nonelectric detonators and detonating cord or a combination thereof, shall be used in blasting operations in congested districts, or on highways, or adjacent to highways open to traffic. Where sources of extraneous electricity, that is electricity in excess of 50 milliamperes flowing through a one OHM resistor are present, electric detonators shall not be used unless corrective measures are taken.
(c) When a fuse is used, the blasting cap shall be securely attached to the safety fuse with a standard ring type cap crimper. All primers shall be assembled at least 50 feet from any magazine.
