Section Saf-C 1305.05 - School Bus Driver Instructor Recertification
(a) Each school bus driver instructor's recertification shall consist of a minimum of 18 credit hours within a 3 year period. One credit hour shall be granted for every hour of courses, workshops, or seminars. A one-time 3 month extension shall be granted, for good cause, to fulfill the minimum 18 hour credit within a 3 year period as long as the outstanding number of credits needed is no more than 3.
(b) For the purposes of (a) above, good cause shall include:
(1) Temporary disability;
(2) Family illness; or
(3) Death in the family.
(c) Each recertification course shall be reviewed by the division to ensure that it has a curriculum in compliance with the areas set forth in Saf-C 1305.04(c) or any other related school bus safety curriculum.
(d) The instructor shall submit the list of courses, workshops and seminars attended to the division prior to the expiration date of the school bus driver's certificate. The list shall include the hours of attendance and shall be signed by the instructor's employer.
