Class 1A case report required for meningococcal and Haemophilus influenzae meningitis or other forms of invasive disease, since chemoprophylaxis for high risk contacts is provided by the Department of Health. (Usually presents as meningitis or septicemia, or less commonly as cellulites, epiglottitis, osteomyelitis, pericarditis, or septic arthritis.)
