To provide electricity during an interruption of the normal electric supply that could affect the medical care, treatment, or safety of the occupants, an emergency source of electricity shall be provided and connected to certain circuits for lighting and power. The source of this emergency electric service shall be an emergency generator, with a stand-by supply of fuel of 24 hours. Emergency electrical systems shall be provided in accordance with the applicable section of the Life Safety Code.
