Nutrition is recognized as an important component of the total health status of all persons. Because state and community health agencies are concerned with the total health care of all, nutrition services must be considered a vital element in all home health agencies' programs. When a home health agency elects to provide nutrition services, these services shall include an evaluation of the nutritional status of the patient, the results of which shall be included in the patient care plan. Nutritional services shall be provided by or under the supervision of a registered dietitian.
