Rule 15-16-1-46.42.1 - General

Medical social services shall be provided by a social worker who has a master's degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and is licensed as such by the State of Mississippi and has one year of social work experience in a health care setting or by a licensed social worker who has a bachelor's degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education or Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has one year of social work experience in a health care setting and who is supervised by a licensed social worker with a master's degree. Medical social services shall be given in accordance with the responsible physician's, podiatrist's, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, or clinical nurse specialist's written order by a medical social worker. Master's degree social worker shall review and evaluate the performance of the bachelor's degree social worker on a monthly basis.
