Rule 15-16-1-46.36.1 - GeneralLicensed Practical Nursing Services shall be provided by a trained licensed practical nurse working under the supervision of a registered nurse. The duties of the Licensed Practical Nurse shall include, but not limited to the following:
1. Observe, record and report to supervisor on the general physical and mental conditions of the patient;2. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the plan of treatment;3. Assist the physician, podiatrist, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or clinical nurse specialist, and/or registered nurse in performing specialized procedures;4. Assist the patient with activities of daily living and encourage appropriate self-care; and5. Prepare progress notes and clinical notes.15 Miss. Code. R. § 16-1-46.36.1
