On April 12, 1985, the Mississippi Legislature passed an Act to provide for the licensing of birthing centers by the department or its successor; to provide for license fees; to provide for hearings prior to the denial, suspension or revocation of a license; to provide for appeals from the decision at any such hearing; to provide penalties for violations of this act, and for related purposes.
