The term "safe" as used in Rule 41.8.1 hereof shall be interpreted in the light of compliance with the requirements of the codes recognized by this agency on date of construction which are incorporated by reference as a part of these Minimum Standards; included are the Life Safety Code of the National Fire Protection Association, American National Standards Institute, Standards Number A-17.1, and A-17.3, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospital and Health Care Facilities, and references incorporated as body of all afore mentioned standards.
1. Life Safety Code compliance relative to construction date:a. Buildings constructed after February 14, 2005 shall comply with the edition of the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) recognized by this agency on the date of construction.b. Building constructed prior to February 14, 2005 shall comply with existing chapter of the Life Safety Code recognized by this agency.2. For minimum standards governing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), area design, space allocation, parking requirements, and other considerations not specifically addressed by local authority or standards referenced herein, compliance with the AIA guidelines will be deemed acceptable.15 Miss.
