Preferably a Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician shall head the department. If such a professionally qualified person is not in charge of medical records, one shall be employed either on a part-time or consultative basis to organize the department, train the regular personnel, and make periodic visits to the hospital to evaluate the records and the operation of the department.
