Rule 15-16-1-3.7.4 - Criteria for Admission Infants and children considered for admission to the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility shall be:
1. A child who is less than twenty-one years of age and medically or technologically dependent to include, but not be limited to, conditions such seizure disorder, chronic lung disorder, malignancy, and heart disease and/or complex medical problems requiring continual care, including but not limited to, ventilator dependence, supplemental oxygen, I.V therapy, nasogastric or gastrostomy feedings, tracheotomy, etc. 2. Each child admitted to the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility shall be admitted under the prescription of the licensed prescribing physician and shall remain under the care of the primary care or subspecialist physician for the duration of his/her stay at the facility. Each child placed in the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility shall have documentation of the physician's written order placed in the child's medical record. A copy of the order shall be provided to the child's parent(s) or guardian(s). 3. Infants and children considered for admission to the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility shall be stable for outpatient medical services and shall not, prior to admission, present a significant risk of infection to the other children or personnel. The medical and nursing directors shall review, on a case-by-case basis, any child with a suspected infection to determine appropriateness of admission. 15 Miss. Code. R. § 16-1-3.7.4
