Exits shall be marked with plainly lettered illuminated signs bearing the word "Exit" or "Fire Escape" in letters at least four and one-half (4 1/2) inches high. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times and wired in front of the electrical panel with fuse control in a locked box. Additional signs shall be placed in corridors and passageways wherever necessary to indicate the direction of exit.
