The hospice shall provide pharmaceutical services in accordance with acceptable professional standards of nursing and pharmaceutical practice and State law. The hospice shall have policies and procedures that address receipt, storage, dispensing, labeling, medication administration, all aspects of controlled substance storage, usage, and disposal of controlled substances, the handling of medication errors and components for incorporating pharmacy practices into the facility's overall quality improvement plan. Each inpatient pharmacy shall maintain a current pharmacy permit or registration, as applicable to the services offered.
