A. The Sewerage Program of the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is administered by the Office of Preventive and Public Health Services (OPPHS). Program related activities are authorized, delineated and/or mandated by R.S. Title 40 and other related statutes, the Louisiana State Sanitary Code, and Memorandums of Understanding. The purpose of the Sewerage Program is to regulate sewage treatment, sanitary sewerage disposal and other water and wastewater matters in order to safeguard the general public health.La. Admin.
