The assistant superintendent shall conduct investigations to secure the enforcement of chapter 76, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and pertinent portions of law and the rules, regulations, guidelines, procedures, standards, and policies governing civil service system employment. This may include investigations into the qualifications and suitability of applicants for positions in the civil service system.
