As used in this chapter:
"Board" means the board of education.
"Department" means the department of education.
"Regular summer school program" means the department of education's program of instruction during the summer as regulated by the 2400 series of policies and regulations of the department.
"Special education summer school program" means the department of education's program of instruction during the summer for students with disabilities as defined by state law and as regulated by the 2400 series of policies and regulations of the department.
