Waivers to eliminate or reduce certain chemical monitoring requirements may be granted for the contaminants listed below, according to the criteria listed below. Statewide or regional waivers may be issued by ADEM without application submittal. Individual source or systems waivers may be issued after an application containing the provisions outlined in this rule is approved by the Department.
(a) No waivers will be granted for: 1. Microbiological contaminants3. Disinfection Byproducts(b) Monitoring waivers may be granted for: 1. Inorganics except nitrates and nitrites(c) All waiver applications must address the following:1. Previous analytical results.2. The proximity of a source to a potential point or non-point source of contamination.3. The environmental persistence and transport of the contaminants.4. How well the source is protected against contamination due to factors such as the depth of the source and well construction.5. Elevated nitrate levels in the water supply source.Ala. Admin.
