Section 202.585 - Directing light emitted from laser device at aircraft with intent to interfere with operation of aircraft; penalty1. A person shall not willfully direct at an aircraft any light emitted from a laser device or other source which is capable of interfering with the vision of a person operating the aircraft with the intent to interfere with the operation of the aircraft.2. A person who violates this section: (a) If the violation does not result in injury to any person on the aircraft or damage to the aircraft, is guilty of a misdemeanor.(b) If the violation results in injury to any person on the aircraft or damage to the aircraft or any equipment used to assist in the navigation or operation of the aircraft, is guilty of a category E felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130.3. As used in this section: (a) "Aircraft" means any contrivance intended for and capable of transporting persons through airspace.(b) "Laser device" means a device that uses the natural oscillations of atoms or molecules between energy levels for generating coherent electromagnetic radiation in the ultraviolet, visible or infrared region of the spectrum and when discharged exceeds one milliwatt continuous wave.Added to NRS by 2007, 209Added to NRS by 2007, 209
