Section 168.092 - 21-DAY TEMPORARY VEHICLE PERMIT
Subdivision 1.Resident buyer.

The motor vehicle registrar may issue a permit to a person purchasing a new or used motor vehicle in this state for the purpose of allowing the purchaser a reasonable time to register the vehicle and pay fees and taxes due on the transfer. The permit is valid for a period of 21 days. The permit must be in a form as the registrar may determine, affixed to the rear of the vehicle where a license plate would normally be affixed, and plainly visible. Each permit is valid only for the vehicle for which issued.

Subd. 2.Dealer.

The registrar may issue permits to licensed dealers. When issuing a permit, the dealer shall complete the permit in the manner prescribed by the department.
