§ 3367. Purposes

The Cancer Center of the University of Puerto Rico shall be the entity mainly responsible for executing the public policy in relation to the prevention, orientation, research and rendering of clinical services and related cancer treatments in Puerto Rico. In order to achieve these purposes, and through its Board of Directors, the Center shall coordinate and subscribe the necessary agreements with the Department of Health of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rico Medical Services Administration (ASEM, Spanish acronym), the federal agencies and institutions that sponsor cancer research and treatment, the Dr. I. González Martínez Oncological Hospital and any other public and private entities interested in contributing and attending to the incidence of cancer in Puerto Rico.
