The trustees of the Essex agricultural and technical institute are hereby authorized to enter into agreements providing for the payment of insurance covering dismemberment or death and the reasonable hospital, medical and surgical expenses incurred by, or in behalf of, any student in the institute by reason of injuries sustained by him while participating, or practicing or training for participation, in any game, meet, or contest conducted or held as part of or in connection with the physical education, athletic program, or interscholastic sports program of said institute.
