Section 24-20-106 - Governor may employ counsel

Whenever the governor is satisfied that an action or proceeding has been commenced which may affect the rights or interests of the state, with the consent of the attorney general, he may employ counsel to assist the proper officer to protect such rights or interests; and when any civil action or proceeding has been or is about to be commenced by the proper officer in behalf of the state, the governor may employ additional counsel to assist in the cause.
