Section 502.508 - Criminal penalties1.Criminal penalties.a. Except as provided in paragraph "b", a person who willfully violates any provision of this chapter, or any rule adopted or order issued under this chapter, is guilty of a class "D" felony.b. A person who willfully violates section 502.501 or section 502.502, subsection 1, resulting in a loss of more than ten thousand dollars is guilty of a class "C" felony.2.Criminal reference not required. The attorney general or the proper county attorney, with or without a reference from the administrator, may institute criminal proceedings under this chapter.3.No limitation on other criminal enforcement.
