Section 12-116.07 - Assessments for dangerous crimes against children and sexual assaultA. In addition to any other assessment or restitution, if a person is convicted of a dangerous crime against children as defined in section 13-705 or sexual assault, the court shall order the person to pay an assessment of $500. The assessment shall not be waived and is not subject to a surcharge.B. The court shall transmit the monies collected pursuant to this section to the county treasurer for the purpose of defraying the cost of investigations pursuant to section 13-1414.Amended by L. 2023, ch. 162,s. 24, eff. 10/30/2023.
