Section 388-823-0200 - How do I show that I have intellectual disability as an eligible condition?

In order to be considered for eligibility under the condition of intellectual disability you must be age four or older and have a diagnosis of mental retardation as specified in the DSM-IV-TR or intellectual disability as specified in the DSM-5. This diagnosis must meet the following criteria:

(1) The diagnosis must be made by a licensed psychologist, or be a finding of intellectual disability by a Washington certified school psychologist or other school psychologist certified by the National Association of School Psychologists.
(2) An acceptable diagnostic report includes documentation of all three diagnostic criteria specified in the DSM-IV-TR or DSM-5.
