Section 89.5 - Payment of benefit by the CommonwealthUpon approval of a claim for death benefits, the Commonwealth will pay the benefit, as follows:
(1) To the eligible beneficiary of a public safety officer employed by the Commonwealth.(2) To the political subdivision for the purpose of distribution by the entity to the eligible beneficiary on whose behalf the certifying official filed the report of death for any public safety officer not employed by the Commonwealth.The provisions of this § 89.5 amended November 16, 2007, effective 11/17/2007, 37 Pa.B. 6106.
