Isroff v. Fed. Ins. Co.

United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit
Jun 8, 1994
25 F.3d 1048 (6th Cir. 1994)

Summary

In Griffin, we observed that notice of appeal generally divests the district court of jurisdiction over the subject matter of the appeal, and held that a district court had lacked jurisdiction to consider a "cryptic motion for relief" filed by a prisoner during the pendency of his direct appeal from the dismissal of an earlier habeas petition.
