Section 13:2090 - Alexandria; marshal; fees in criminal matters; deputy marshalA. The marshal of the city court of Alexandria shall collect a fee of thirty dollars for taking an appearance bond when required.B. The sums of monies collected under the provisions of Subsection A of this Section shall be deposited in the marshal's general fund to supplement the operational expenses of the marshal's office. The expenditure of the funds shall be at the sole discretion of the marshal. All funds shall be subject to and included in the marshal's annual audit. A copy of the audit shall be filed with the legislative auditor who shall make it available for public inspection.C. The assessment and disposition of any funds pursuant to this Section shall not affect responsibilities of the city and parish governing authorities provided by law for the financing of the marshal's office of the Alexandria City Court.D. The marshal of the city court of Alexandria, with the approval of the judge of the city court of Alexandria, is authorized to employ a deputy marshal at an annual minimum salary of three thousand dollars, to be paid monthly on his own warrant in equal proportions by the city of Alexandria and the parish of Rapides. Amended by Acts 2024, No. 465,s. 1, eff. 8/1/2024.Acts 2024, No. 465,s. 1 provides: "In accordance with the provisions of R.S. 13:62, the change in court costs or fees as provided by this Act shall become effective if and when the Judicial Council provides a recommendation that such court costs or fees meet the applicable guidelines in its report to the Louisiana Legislature."
