Section 35 - [Operative 1/1/2027] Precedence given proceedings regarding elections(a) Proceedings in cases involving the registration or denial of registration of voters, the certification or denial of certification of candidates, the certification or denial of certification of ballot measures, election contests, and actions under Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 21100) of Division 21 of the Elections Code shall be placed on the calendar in the order of their date of filing and shall be given precedence.(b) This section shall become operative January 1, 2027.Amended by Stats 2023 ch 343 (AB 764),s 2, eff. 1/1/2024.Amended by Stats 2022 ch 745 (AB 972),s 2, eff. 1/1/2023.Added by Stats 2019 ch 493 (AB 730),s 2, eff. 1/1/2020.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
