    In Chester v. Wise County Electoral Board, Civil Action No. 95-0037-B, aff’d, 117 F.3d 1413, 1997 WL 381964 (4th Cir. 1997) (unpublished opinion), plaintiff was out of work for six months, but was awarded only $5,000 for his emotional distress. In Roberson v. Mullins, 876 F. Supp. 100 (W.D. Va. 1995), plaintiff was discharged; the Court awarded $10,000 for his emotional distress. In Bockes v. Fields, 798 F. Supp. 1219 (W.D. Va. 1992), aff’d in part and rev’d in part, 999 F.2d 788 (4th Cir. 1993), plaintiff was discharged without pre-termination due process but reinstated before trial; she was awarded $20,000.
