I wanted to let you know that Winston & Strawn has launched another blog that focuses on employee pension and 401(k) plans and health and welfare benefits plan issues, instead of executive compensation, which we call the Benefits Blast. (My blog will continue as is.) I know that most of you specialize in executive compensation, not employee benefit plans, but I presume that some of you either (1) are responsible for executive compensation and benefit plans or (2) know someone in your company who handles benefit plan matters. Therefore, I have included links to the first two posting of the new blog for your review. The format, timing and guidelines for the Benefits Blast blog will be similar to mine; that is, very short and focused on developments about which you really need to know and which may require attention.
Our promise to readers is to provide timely updates, alerts, and reminders on topics that matter the most, ranging from action items for the Affordable Care Act to court cases that potentially expand the duties or potential liabilities of plan fiduciaries. These will not be the typical law firm newsletters. Instead, they will be short and succinct alerts to matters that may require your immediate attention.
