Lineman, Dead at 36, Exposes Brain Injuries

The National Football League has been the center of controversy lately due to the increased number of brain injuries being suffered by it’s players including Mike Webster, Terry Long and Andre Waters. Now there is fourth addition to this list: Justin Strzelczyk.

The former Pittsburgh Steeler Offensive Lineman passed away three years ago in a car accident, and now new tests on Strzelczyk’s brain show early signs of increased brain damage and head trauma. Doctors believe this is due in large part to the severe head traumas he suffered while playing in the NFL.

This fourth addition of players suffering from brain injuries as a result of playing in the NFL only increases the need for the already scheduled concussion management meeting to be held Tuesday with NFL officials and several medical experts.
