We are pleased to announce that Troutman Sanders attorney Ethan Ostroff will be presenting during the RMAI Annual Conference at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The RMAI Conference is the premier event for the receivables management industry. Ethan will be presenting on a panel discussing “RMAI’s Take on CFPB Rulemaking” on Wednesday, February 5th at 2:00pm. The panelists will seek to answer questions pertaining to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, including: What will this mean for your business? How will members be able to operationalize the CFPB’s proposed rules? What were RMAI’s positions on the rules?
Ethan will also be speaking on a 3:00pm panel titled, “Credit Reporting – Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze.” This panel will provide a deep dive into the pains and benefits of credit reporting. The conversation will center on evaluating the risk and return on credit reporting as well as processes needed to accurately report account information. There will be a discussion about how to minimize the risk of credit reporting, when and why to request deletion of an account’s tradeline, how and why to furnish information on purchased accounts, recent changes to the Consumer Data Industry Association’s (CDIA) Credit Reporting Resource Guide, in particular with regard to accounts involves in a bankruptcy, and upcoming initiatives of the CDIA that may impact data furnishers.
