Former NASCAR driver hopes to raise TBI awareness

Thirteen years ago former NASCAR driver Ernie Irvan suffered his first traumatic brain injury during a crash on the racetrack. A mere five years later Irvan suffered his second injury and now spends his time raising money for research and raising awareness with his third annual LAPS Walk at the Michigan International Speedway during the 3M Performance 400.

Irvan’s message is to educate people on the importance of preventing traumatic brain injuries before they happen. Irvan believes there is already a cure – prevention. By wearing helmets and buckling your seatbelt, you can prevent a devastating tragedy from occurring to you or a loved one.
