EPA Releases Analysis of Lieberman-Warner

On Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released its analysis of the Lieberman-Warner legislation. The analysis showed that electricity prices are expected to rise 44 percent by 2030 with the passage of the legislation. This price increase would affect the poor and those on a fixed income the most. However, the analysis deemed that the overall economic impact would be negligible. This is one of a few studies that the Senate is expected to use for reference when the Senate floor debate begins after Memorial Day.
