Wickwire Spencer Steel Co.Download PDFNational Labor Relations Board - Board DecisionsFeb 2, 194020 N.L.R.B. 99 (N.L.R.B. 1940) Copy Citation In the Matter Of AVICKwIRE SPENCER STEEL COMPANY and FEDERATED INDUSTRIAL UNION Case No. R-1598 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES February 2, 1940 On December 16, 1939, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings., Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on January 15, 1940, at the plant of the Company at Tonawanda, New York, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Third Region (Buffalo, New York). On January 16, 1940, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, issued an Election Report, copies of which, were served upon the parties. No objec- tions to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. C., Lodge No. 1060 of Amal- gamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North America, has been designated and selected by a majority of the pro- duction and maintenance employees, including 'heaters and weigh- masters in the open hearth, employed by Wickwire Spencer Steel Company, Tonawanda, New York, at the plant of said Company in Tonawanda, excluding executives, foremen, assistant foremen, rollers in the rod mill, office employees, timekeepers, weighers, production clerks, police, chemists, and nurses, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to the provi- sions of Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, S. W. 0. C., Lodge No. 1060 of Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of North -America, is the exclusive repre- sentative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargain- ing in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
