Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on November 27, 1941, under the direction and ,-^upervislon of the, Regional Director for the Second Region (New York;C,ity). On November 29, 1941, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board I ,ules ,and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon ,the parties an Election Report on the ballot. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of.the parties. As to the' balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total on eligibility list-------------------------------------- 173 Total ballots cast------------------------------------------- 164 Total ballots challenged------------------------------------- 19 Total blank ballots------------------------------------------ 0 Total void ballots------------------------------------------- 0 Total valid votes counted----------------------------------- Votes cast for Local 17 of International Hodcarriers, Building 145 & Common Laborers Union of America--------------------- 44 Votes cast against aforementioned union--------------------- 101 The results of the election show that no collective bargaining repre- sentative has been selected by a majority of the employees.
