Case No. R-1780 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES Jwn,e 4, 1940 On April. 22, 1940, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued its Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding., Pursuant to the Direction, an election by secret ballot was conducted under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Seventh Region (Detroit, Michi- gan). On May 16, 1940, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report were filed by any of the parties. B., No. 26. 283035-42-vol. 24-24 357 358 DECISIONS OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Local 78, International Brotherhood of Firemen, Oilers, Helpers, Roundhouse and Railroad Shop Laborers, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, has been desig- nated and selected by a majority of the powerhouse employees of Kalamazoo Paper Company, including first and second fireman at Powerhouse No. 1 and firemen at Powerhouse No. 3, engineers, oilers, motor oiler, crane operators, boiler repairmen, and filter-plant operator, but excluding the chief and assistant chief engineers and the electricians, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Local 78, International Brotherhood of Firemen, Oilers, Helpers, Round- house and Railroad Shop Laborers, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
